Justin Kriel, is a commercial photographer based in Northern Virginia. Having studied Photography and Industrial Design at the University of Johannesburg (formerly Wits Tech) in South Africa, Justin left home after graduating to travel the world and build his portfolio (aka have fun!). After 4 years abroad he and his wife Penny moved in London for 2 years where he was able to hone his architectural and advertising skills as a staff photographer for a large marketing company.

A career opportunity for Penny led them to Washington DC in 2006, where Justin continued to build his interior and architectural portfolio. In 2008 he was hired by VRX Studios, a global hospitality photography agency, to join their international team of contracted photographers. During this time he would collaborate in producing content for brands like Hilton, Kempinski, Fairmont, Oceania Cruises, Hyatt and Shangri-La to name a few. In 2013 he took over as their Head of Photography, and now oversees a team of exceptionally talented photographers.

Independently his work has been featured in publications such as DC Modern Luxury, Washington Life, American Spa, New York Post and Washington Post, and has received numerous accolades including 2 honorable mentions in the 2007 Lucie International Photography Awards.

Justin is an avid golfer and credits the lesson learnt on the course with his success in business. He currently lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and 2 children.
